This day seemed a very, very long way away at one point.
Just think back to that day at Stockport, when something we all knew was happening finally did – more than a century of Rochdale AFC being a Football League club was coming to an end.
Just because it was inevitable didn’t make it any easier to take, and the way back felt long.
Supporters had had enough after years of struggle and mismanagement, vultures circled and oblivion beckoned.
