Everyone will have seen the flags in the stands and logo on the big screen. Plenty may have even bought a hat, a pin badge or a T-shirt.

A trip to the Crown Oil Arena these days will more than likely see you come across the work of “Dale 1907” – the group who have had a transformative impact on the fan experience at Rochdale home matches.

But having initially been brought together by the common goal of helping to save their beloved club from oblivion, their work has gone well beyond that.

“It soon gets busy,” says Lee Percy as we meet at the group’s merchandise stall in a quiet Ratcliffe Arms prior to Dale’s home game against Accrington Stanley.
