Harvey Gilmour was enjoying a sun-drenched round of golf when his phone rang.

He did not know it at the time, but that phone call would kickstart an incredible journey back to where he’s always strived to be.

It was a call that convinced him to leave his native Yorkshire behind and become Rochdale’s first signing as a National League club.

A little over three years later and having been the midfield heartbeat of the club’s recovery in and then escape from the fifth tier, the 27-year-old is now an EFL player for the first time since his late-teens.
