The intriguing tactical battle that awaits Rochdale this weekend
15.10.26, 09:07
Rochdale’s recent form has been excellent – but it’s about to face a big test.
Three wins and two draws in their last five games has got the Ian Watson era well and truly moving and 10 matches in – a traditional yardstick to mark the earliest point at which judgements can start to be formed – they are inside the top half of the table and comfortably clear of the relegation picture.
Indeed, only the division’s top two sides – Salford City and Barnet – have taken more points in the last five matches than Watson’s men.
However, they now face the tough task of travelling to an unbeaten Crewe Alexandra side that is now starting to turn draws into wins – having started by sharing the spoils in six of their first eight matches, back-to-back victories has vaulted them into the automatic promotion places.
